All repairs are done to the highest
standards, using period correct methods
and materials, and usually tools as well,
suitable to the age of the piece being
restored. I use thick saw-cut veneers, old
style hot hide glue for binding and
joining, old dyes and chemical colouring
methods, hand-dovetail and mortice and
tenon joinery, etc., etc. Having your
treasured piece restored at The Old
Woodworks ensures that it is done
according to the most period correct
methods to preserve and maximize the
underlying value of the article.
